I love that my day is taken up by discovering things no one has ever known before. I recently read a book on the history of Mars exploration and was awed by the fascination of Ancient Greek scientists, who wanted to know what this wandering red dot was. When I compared what I know about Mars to all the questions they had, I feel like an ambassador somehow — like I’m not just answering these questions for me, but for everyone before me who ever wondered the same thing.
