I was teased by some mean girls when I was in Year 7 and at a horrible school I didn’t like. It wasn’t anything serious but it put me down, and I moved schools in Year 8 to start afresh somewhere. If you’re being bullied the best thing to do is tell someone: a councillor in school, your form teacher, and your parents are all people who would hate to think of you unhappy and would take action. There is a national bullying helpline you can google as well who will always listen.
I was bullied a few times while I was in primary school. Nothing to do with science but because I was always the smallest in school. It didn’t ruin my time at school and I ended up sorting things out. But as Lucy says if bullying does take place it shouldn’t be hidden away. You should tell someone about it as it isn’t acceptable.
I had to move to different classes so I could study triple science. The new class weren’t very nice and I didn’t like school at all. Thankfully my teachers were great and I changed to another class who were wonderful. It meant I still got to study science and I made some more great friends. School is really tough at times, it’s important to find people who are like you and stick together. Talking to someone about it always helped me 🙂
Yes, and no. I was really small so there were occasions where some kids tried to bully me but I really didn’t let it get to me and I was able to mostly ignore it so it stopped pretty quickly . . . I don’t think I consider myself to have suffered too badly.
