1 Question: How many planets are there in our solar system? Keywords: planet, solar system Asked by Jack_H_DJS to Stephen on 9 Mar 2017.
Stephen Pulker answered on 9 Mar 2017:
8. Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune. Pluto is now a dwarf planet I think.
Lucy commented on 9 Mar 2017:
Eight regular planets, as Stephen says, and five ‘dwarf planets’ (meaning they don’t quite fit the standards for classification as a planet, but they’re too big to just call an asteroid). These are called Pluto, Ceres, Eris, Makemake, and Haumea.
