The Milkyway is approximately 100,000 light years across (that is also about 1,000,000,000,000,000,000 km). So with our current technology it would take easily a few millions years to travel across as we can’t travel as fast as light……yet.

It also has a few hundred billion stars in it. That’s a lot of stars and planets to visit and explore!
