• Question: Has an animal ever been to space and if there was what animal was it?

      Fruit flies were first, followed by a monkey named Albert II, both by the Americans in the 40s. A Russian dog named Laika was the first live animal to reach space in the 50s. Mice came next, then dogs, and finally humans! Others have been sent since, but notable to me is a cat called Félicette by the French, who survived! Bless her.
